Robbing Power From My Gmc?

Recommended Posts

My 1995 GMC sierra has some power issues. When I start it up it sometimes will stall right when I put it into gear. The main issue is that it accelerates very poorly, it has a 350 it should be able to get up go alot better than it does. Do you guys have any ideas on what exactly could be sucking my power away???

you want the long or the short? When were the plugs & wires changes? how about the cap and rotor?

Is the CEL on? could be a faulty sensor MAF, O2, TPS (if it has one) or the cats could be shot.

Thats the few that come to mind for me. Hope that helps.

First of all check the fuel pressure if you have a gauge to do this should be 12-14 psi for TBI Pump should dead head at about 30 psi when return is pinched off.

Check the fuel filter or just change it.Check the timing should be 0 degrees at TDC.

If it way out of wack retarded the distributor mainshafts were good for the magnetic pole piece cracking and or spinning on the shaft (shifting back and fourth retarding the ignition timing) Check also for a restricted exhaust.

you buy it at a autoparts store... buy 2 cans. one for the gas tank and the other for your brake booster line... it works wonders :)

its real easy. start the truck. pull the vacuum line that feeds the top of the motor or atleast all cylinders. slowly dump seafoam into the hose just until the trucks about to die and back off. keep doing it until the you have used about 1/3 or half the can. Let it sit for a little bit and start it up and watch the smoke show.

So what exactly will this do? And I can just poor it in right were it takes in its air?

It cleans everything out... yeah the air will suck it in... i always use the whole bottle. if it doesn't stall out then turn it off and let it sit for 10 mins then turn it on and it'll smoke ALOT. There are a bunch of people who have done this and said its a night and day difference and performs like it did off the show room floor. I did it a couple times on my 99 sierra and had good experiences with it.

Put it through the brake booster vacuum line and then one in the gas tank (not as noticeable)...
