Stupid Question I Know...

So I know this question has been asked before because I've seen it. And search really doesn't work for me when I include multiple words. So I figured I'd just ask here and hope for the question to be answered again or pointed to the thread or threads with tthe answer.

Here it goes.

I plan on getting a black bear tune in Feb. as does my friend. My friend was curious as to about how much HP is gained through this tune. I know Justin will customize it according to your liking and each vehicle is different but what are some of the typical gains you guys have seen? I'm in for the tune no matter what just from reading all the great posts on here about it. My friend on the other hand really wants to know some of the raw data specifics associated with this tune.

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it. Thanks guys.

I think every vehicle is going to be different. Its all going to depend on mods, gear size, tire size, intake, exhaust. Just email justin and let him know what you have and he can help you out. After all he is the tune master. I had mine done and all I have is the corvette servo. Got some pretty good gains.

Most see 25-40 hp gains. But anyone with a Black Bear tune will tell you that the gain in power is just icing on the cake.

The big difference is how available the power is. Getting rid of all the stinking nannies and delays before the computer allows you to have the power. Adjusting the shift points, firmness, down shift points, getting rid of Torque Management, changing the rev limiter, getting rid of the speed limiter, etc, etc.

Horse Power gains vary greatly between customers. Based on mods, what octane you want to run, do you tow, etc.

You are going to LOVE it. You will wish you had it done before you did.

Cool thanks for the responses. I'm really excited about getting this tune and having Justin unleash the power of my truck. My friend just wants to know some specifics and never really heard of anything other than a handheld tune before. I'll talk him into it and if anything I'll just have him read all the threads on this site.

Thanks again

it also depends on which engine he has 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2. You see different gains from the engines. The 5.3 gets better gains down low in the rpm range but the 6.0 vortecmax gets big gains higher in the rpm range. like the post earlier, thats just the icing on the cake. drivability is greatly improved, like shifting and throttle response, also the delay when you stomp on it from a dead stop is gone.
