I have a 2001 z71 and i was thinking of putting a lift on it. if i put blocks in the back 2 inches how am i going to get the front up higher the tortion keys are already turned up as high as they go so were would i find tortion keys that would let it go up higher or am i going to have to do more than that.

You need a suspension lift with a differential drop. You cant just keep cranking away without reprocussions

stlavas aint there some kinda rubber bushing or filler like on a body lift for the cab you can put for the front struts or am i jus thinkin of somthing that doesnt excist lol

alright guys i figured it out i feel stupid ha. one more question that is probably dumb to. i think this will work but lets makes sure wouldnt it be cheaper to jus get the leveling kit but in stead of buying blocks new for back couldnt i jus get blocks form a junkyard with my years of truck and use the blocks from the rearend

you get what you pay for bud..

and i dont think the strut thing will work out for you as the leveling kit for your truck is the torsion bar keys i'm pretty sure.

if you're going to do it, do it right bud. you might end up paying for it later.

rear blocks or an add a leaf kit would be an easy rear lift or just a body lift all around.. look into the zone kits a lot of the people on here have em and i think they look pretty good. i'm planning a zone 3" lift someday i can afford it/when i need new tires.

if you already have your torsion keys cranked up, then thats really all the farther you should go. If you want a couple more inches of lift you need to do something to lower your differential like i said. ie suspension lift with a diff drop.

If not you will have very steep angles on your CVs and you will wear your suspension and driveline parts quickly. (this is all thinking that its 4wd, if its 2wd then ignore what i said)

If you crank them too much you will be stressing parts. Not only will your ball joints take a beatin but you will put your cv axels in severe strain. We put a fabtech 6" lift in a buddys 2002 z71 with ready lift keys and he cranked them above level and added an add-a-leaf for more lift. 2 weeks later at hunting camp---- muddy road, 4wheel drive and a sharp left turn resulted in a busted cv axle. It could have been caused by the spacers required on the front hub because of the offset steering nuckle of the fabtech nuckle lift, but I am sure that overcranking the torsion bars had a lot to do with it.

if your keys are already cranked that bad, chances are your wearing your shit out faster then normal anyways, I say enough with the cheap "Lift" and just go get a suspension, BDS, SuperLift, ZOne w/e... you get what you pay for, if your getting them, might as well grab a 6 inch while your at it cause there the same cost as a 4 inch.
