Swap An 08 Stereo Into An 04 Possible

How hard would it be to swap in a 08 silverado mp3 stereo, into an 04 Sierra with Bose installed. Will it wok? How hard would it be to install? The stereo wouldn't cost so trying to do this cheap

really depends how creative and handy you are with some filler/sander/spraycan

i think you could do it but i am pretty sure the OEM plugs are different so you're going to have to cut wires and you may need an antenna adapter but i'm sure you could flushmount it into the dash if you had a little creativity..

if it was me, i would just go for an aftermarket and get an OEM adapter so you dont have to cut wires and you get so much more functionality.. you can get aftermarket mp3 players for $150 easily and i'm sure you could sell the stock deck to a dealership or something for around that much.

unless there is a much easier fix for this, but it sounds like it would be more complicated than it is worth.. if it even fits in the double din..

Don't think it will work. The 08's use GMLAN for the amp to communicate with the other modules. I don't think the 04 has GMLAN so I doubt it will work.

yea thats what im afraid of, i was just trying to avoid buying all the adapters, my buddy changed his 08 stereo with aftermarket, and my god it was $400 just for adapters, i was just thinking cheap, just didnt know what all was involved
