2002 Tahoe Vibration Under Acceleration At 10-15mph

Hello All,

My 2002 Tahoe LT (80,000 miles) has developed a vibration that seems to be coming from the back

of the car. It sounds metalic and might be exhaust. Everything on this tahoe is stock (including exhaust)

I have done a quick inspection underneath, but it is hard to know exactly where to start. I checked the

exhaust, driveshaft and metal shields in and around the rear axle, but it is kind of hard not being able

to be underneath while the sound is happening. I took a video of the noise and posted it

...

Does anyone have some idea's or experience about where I should start checking.

Any help is appreciated!

Well, I figured out the vibration. No one responded to my post so I set out last weekend with a

friend holding the throttle at just the right spot to make the vibration happen. Rolling around

under the rear, I isolated it down to the muffler, specifically the heatsheild on the topside

of the muffler. It is basically cracked where it connects to the back of the muffler. I managed

to stick in a wad of folded up aluminum sheet between the muffler and the shield in the back

and made the vibration disappear. I think I will eventually need a new muffler.

Has anyone had this problem?
