2008 Gmc Crew Cab Lt Stereo System Sounds Sterile

Howdy, thanks for listening.

 

2008 Crew Cab LT loaded with Navigation and bose speakers.

 

My complaint is my system just sounds sterile, no depth, like its under powered. More like if you have an amp and its off.

 

My desktop computer speakers sound better.

 

With the navigation package do they put in a lesser stereo?

 

Is there an amp, if so, could it be off, blown fuse, etc...

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I upgraded mine with a Jl Audio stealth box and Kicker 500.1 amp. I put the amps exteranl gain control in the ash tray (don't smoke) and it just flat rocks hard now!! I will be upgrading speakers and going to an amp that will power them also. I will use a JL audio amp or kicker amp, I like those brands myself. From what i have seen from just readinf that the high end Infinity speakers seem to be very good performers. Prices are about $400 for front and rear speakers, the amp will run about $450.00 and the PAC connector that connects the two amps to the stock system runs about $60.00.

 

I those prices are not bad for higher end equipment. My Stealth box sub sounds great with classic rock, hip hop, country you name it at $500.00 it's the best investment I have made in while. I spend some time in my truck and the sound system has to sound good.

 

Bought it with 8 miles in Oct and it has 8000 on it now!!
