Wiring Running Board Question

Can anyone tell me the best way to get power for lighted running boards on an '09 Silverado 1500 cc LTZ? I have heard the dome light but My '09 Silverado has an air bag curtan and I don't want to interfere with that.

Not sure if it's easy on the new body style trucks but, when I wired mine I just ran it back from the park lights at the front. Down the frame rail to the location on the running boards...

Little extra wire but it was pretty easy to do...

Wouldn't that mean that the board lights would stay on the entire time the parking lights were on? I'm looking for them to go out after the door is closed.

Are you adding custom lights to your existing running boards, or did they come that way? You could find a company that sells lighted ones and find the instructions, or call them and be a "curious interested buyer" :dunno:

Run a wire to your Dome Light Fuse(not sure what its exactly called) then down to the lights. This would be the fuse box location on the left side of your dash when you open your door.
