04 silvy, disc brakes all the way around, after the truck has sat in freezing or below temps it seems i get a nice bang as soon as i put it in reverse and begin rolling, like ice busting off the discs...today i noticed the clunking for a few miles, it is indeed coming from the rear of the truck, my assumption is its the brakes, just sort of curious if anybody else has had this problem? it only happens when it sits in the cold for hours and also these pads were replaced around 69k and now at 100k they are down to around 30%, i know i've heard about sticking rear brakes on these trucks before some where :banghead:

It could be your parking brake shoes. There is a hold down clip that breaks and the shoe rubs on the drum part of the rotor. I think mine does the same thing. they redesigned the clip because it was so common.
