04 Gmc Blower Motor

I have a 04 gmc of corse the weather is bad and my heater motor went out i think. Truck has climate control when i took motor out when I put it on high the motor will move alittle then stop. Only does this on high any other time nothing. I hooked a test light up and stays on all the time. but I hooked motor up to a battery and it works fine but not as smooth as i think it should be . Any ideas not sure what i need. Thanks also how do i tell if its the resistor or the blower

if you unplug the resistor it will probably have a burnt terminal, if it does you will need a new resistor and pigtail connector to fix it.
