Mirror Switch

Hi

I've got a 2000 GMC Sierra (New Style) with electric mirrors. The mirrors have a bad attitude!

Both mirrors will go Up & Left, but not Down & Right.

I've tried new (known good) switches with no results. I suspected that there were 2 power supplies to the switch- one for Up & Left one for Down & Right. I see some of the wires go into the window switch block. I tried a known good one, still no luck. I've asked everyone I know with a similar truck if they have had this problem. Some said "Yes". their solutions were the dealer.

I hate to go to a dealer for this. Do any of you have experience with this symptom?

Thanks,

Paul

I had a 2001 Yukon with the exact same problem. I was considering replacing the door switch. Hope someone has a suggestion for you.

Here is a wiring diagram for the basic power mirror functions

I hope this helps. It looks to be 1 power source. If the switch doesn't fix it, I would check the ground, and verify proper voltage on wires to mirror when switch is pressed.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'll check the diagrams out!
