Has Anyone Had Their Tuned Rig On A Dyno?

I searched high and low and couldn't find anything.

I really am curious if anyone has actually measured the power difference before and after having been tuned, rather than just using the 'seat of the pants' method.

Justin has tuned quite a few vehicles on the dyno. If you are going to get a dyno tune, be sure that it is a load bearing dyno rather than an inertia dyno. Also, make sure you are not being tuned off of pulls, as that is only beneficial for WOT.

Thanks Jenna.

Do you know what the horsepower and torque gains typically are? I'm really considering a tune for my next Silverado, but I want some type of measurement as to what I'm getting instead of "It's way better."

I'm not discounting what a tune can do, as I had a tune in my 2000 Silverado and it was awesome. I know it's not just about power increases (e.g. driveability, shift points, firmness, etc. etc.)

We get this question all the time, and it is hard to give a solid answer, as the gains differ from truck to truck. All depends on the engine, driver, modifications, and gas (octane and quality). Based on that, gains could be anywhere from 15-30HP.

EDIT:

Here is an 05 Sierra with LTs. You can see that we don't use DynoJets as we are not interested in numbers. If you wanted DynoJet equivalent numbers, add 20% to both HP and TQ.

why is that? i suspect you're really looking for the ability to do steady-state tuning, which is not exclusive to 'packs and the like. i'm actually headed down to do tuning on my standalone on a friends' jet that has the steady-state option on it, though most don't.
