Single Sub In Gmt900 Crew?

I'm thinking about putting a 12" sub I have from my old truck under the single fold up rear seat. I'm trying to keep as much floor space as possible which is why I was going to go with the single section of the back seat. I can fit the box no problem but I'm having a hard time finding a good spot for the amp without loosing a lot of space. Has anyone else done this?

I just ordered a new crew cab and am wanting to do the same thing. I was looking at the JL Audio Stealthbox for that vehicle, but I can't tell if the spot in the middle of the box is for an amp or not. Floor space is too valuable to lose all of it (under the seat, that is).

If you find a solution please keep this thread updated - and I will do the same.

I'm not sure how nuts you want to go but I've seen pics where the rear seat was torn out and an amp mounted to the rear wall, then the seats re installed. Not exactly idea for service but it would save floor space.

I'm just living with the Bose sub for now, its to much hassle to do anything else in these new trucks.

I have the JL Stealthbox and can tell you an amp will not fit in the box cut out. JL told me that area of the box is purely acoustical.

I have an Ext. Cab and have two amps installed behind my seats, mounted to the back wall. The short side of the seats can be raised all the way up, but the long part can't go all the way. It stops about 3 inches out.

I have mine on a carpeted board mounted behind the rear seat. I raised the seats 1/2 inch and trimed the catch tabs so when you raise the seat bottoms abount 1/2 way up it releases the seat back and folds down giving much easier access to amp controls

Is that safe to do? I have an '08 Sierra Crew and I need to mount the amps behind the seat as well. Does anyone have specs on the size of the board?
