2002 Heated Seats

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2002 Silverado LT with heated leather seats.

The seat part on the drivers side does not work, but the back does.

What should I check out?

If I need a new seat unit, where should I get one?

What do you have to do to replace it?

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks.

Steve,

Sounds like the heating element is bad...basically what you need to do is have the heating element checked out underneath the seat. Basically in order to replace it, you will need to unbolt the bottom seat cushion from the seat track, then once you have the seat cushion out of the truck you will need to unclip the seat cover, and remove the bezel with switches, then remove the seat cover. The element hides right under there.

Is this hard to do for a novice?

Is this a good time to replace the seat cushion?

Where can I find a diagram of the seat and all the electronics under it?
