Fixed P0449 Code On 2003 Silverado

I'd like to thank those on here for their information concerning the EVAP code and fixing it. I threw a P0449 code and after hearing what it was became worried.

After dedicating some research time on here I figured I would give it a shot. I followed #02-06-04-037F service bulletin. For those reading this who need it, just google it. They list service part numbers for different years which you can cross reference to get the comparable AC Delco part.

Anyways, after some serious finger gymnastics I was able to disconnect and re-mount the solenoid, then ran the heater hose like it said to relocate the vent valve. I was on my way to Autozone to get the code cleared and it went off automatically (within about 5 miles). Needless to say I was thrilled.

Thanks again for everyones contributions -

Glad to hear you got an updated valve.... Should be the cure for the EVAP issue... Fixed mine so far 1 year NO LIGHT.... Which is a testimonial to the new valve. It was a every 8 month problem since I bought the truck.

By the way I have an extra filter in the glove box, I HATE THAT little yellow "Check Engine Light"....... Hopefully that filter stays in the box in the glove box from now OWN..
