I Replaced My Carpet. My Review On Acc Carpet

I'm not a very good typist nor a good story teller so please take this as just a way to inform others of my experiance. I'm not gonna tell you how to replace your carpet, just the pros and cons of this brand.

I replaced the carpet in my 2002 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab.

I ordered it through 1aautomotive and the carpet is ACC brand.

Per there web site "High Quality molded 1 piece replacement carpet.

This carpet covers the front and rear passenger compartment floor."

and

"Heat and pressure molded to an original floor pan. Correct heel pad on drivers side. Die cut 40 oz Jute attached to the back."

I pulled my old dirty carpet out and threw it in the trash (Caused a problem later on). I proceded to clean the floor of the truck very throughly.

A few days later the carpet arrived. It was not quite the original color. It was about 10" too long and about 4" too wide on each side. There weren't any pre-cut holes for seats, bolts, harness or ductwork.

Also, they called it "molded". On a scale of 1 being a flat piece of capet and 10 being the original. I would rate this as a 4. It kinda had the trans hump molded in but that was it!.

Here's a tip. Keep the original carpet to use as a template. You can put a old bed sheet between the old and new carpet so that the new one doesn't get dirty.

So I put the carpet in the truck. Even after trimming, it was puckered up all over. I bought the best 3m glue I could find. It was about $20 for a large spray can. I lifted the carpet and sprayed down the puckered spots. I let it air dry for the 20min it suggested. I then layed down the carpet and placed 40lb bags of salt (Semi flexable and form fitting) on the puckered spots.

I let it sit over night. The next day I pulled the bags out and the puckered spots of the carpet were about 60-80% better. The puckered spots were a bummer but after half a day of trying to get them to stay down I gave up.

I was finally satisfied because I thought about how much of the carpet would be covered with the front and rear seats and the center console. Then I put in 4 new LARGE heavy duty floor mats. So really there is only like 10% of the carpet is visible.

Pros: It's new carpet

Cons: Color isn't a perfect match, not molded very well, needs a bunch of trimming and hole cutting prep work, NOT VERY CLOSE TO OEM QUALITY.
