1500 Hd Transfer Case Removal

2003 1500 HD, 145,000 miles. Just fell victim to the dreaded pump rub. Caught it way early! Have parts on order for the fix, but have a couple of questions. Does the torsion bar cross member have to be removed? Just looks like it is the way, and no other option. Any other parts that should be replaced while I am in there? Any help is appreciated.

There are a few choices here. You can get merchant automotives fix which is a billet aluminum piece that replaces the clip and as long as your case is good merchant automotive will replace your transfer case for free if you ever have pump rub. You can also buy rear halfs of the transfer case but the merchant kit is $175 but I think it's what I'm gonna do here soon. You can also look at Kennedy diesel

The brace does not have to be removed. Remove it off the studs then down and out.
