2009 2500 6.0l Rough Idle

I have new 2009 2500 6.0 gas - 3k miles

 

it has a somewhat rough idle at times. taken back to dealer two times but no help. dealer claims rough idle is common in 6.0 however 2011 GM has fixed probelm.

 

Does GM has any service notices on rough idle for 6.0?

if there is no codes ,what is to fix ?,and it is a new engine,try another dealer ,but i am thinking they may say the same thing,

 

try different fuel,maybe that will help

Congratz man...you have a Chevy.

 

Sorry to tell you that....I think changing gas stations may make a diff too....but you will always have a little bit of a stumble at idle with the Gen IV and Gen III engines.

It has no codes. I've ran several tanks of gas plus GM fuel addtives. Still rough idle.

 

I'm afraid this may be par for the course.

Yup you are right....

Not much you can do really...I have a slight stumble in my truck...the tune and 94 octane and royal purple oil helped some...but I can still tell its there.

I've owned three 6.0's over the years and they all have the stumble...nothing to be concerned about as it's just part of the engine. I put over 321,000 on my first 6.0 before I traded it and it was stumbling at 300K just as it did at 1K but ran like a top the whole time. I now have a brand new 2009 with a 6.0 and it has the stumble when idling and then recovers thus it isn't a concern to me. If it stumbles and stops, now we've got issues.

thanks guys - I guess I will get use to it. I'm coming from a 2008 Duramax -- I need adjustment period.
