Park Distance Control Stopped Working

2007 GMT-900 Sierra VortecMax

 

I towed my boat home Saturday, unhooked it and went to my brothers house. When I was leaving I noticed that the PDC was not working, the button would just flash when I pressed it and the DIC told me it was disabled. I just now thought that maybe its seeing my 3 ball hitch and is turning it off, but that's just a guess. Anyone experience this before?

Yes, the system judges what is there when it first starts and shuts off if it determines that it is a hitch or a tailgate. Mine does it every time that I have my adjustable hitch in (it sticks up pretty high from the ball). When you take it out you should be able to restart the system (you may have to restart the truck).

My 09 Sierra picks up my regular hitch for the bass boat and will turn itself off, and then back on again if I take out the hitch!
