Onstar Volume

Does anyone know how to adjust the volume of Onstar on the GMT900's if the vehicle is not equipped with steering wheel controls?

I upgraded my stereo a while ago with a Schoche GM21SR module and it references to use the steering wheel controls to adjust the volume of the Onstar. The problem is when you push the blue button the lady is freaking screaming at you...

I have no idea, but I have a titanium wheel with radio controls for sale if you want it. $145+shipping, like new condition.

on the stock radio, you can turn the volume up and down with the regular volume knob.

OnStar volume is independent from radio volume, perhaps you can reinstall the stock radio, reduce the volume and then put your aftermarket unit back in???? it's just a suggestion....

It is a good idea and worth a shot. The module that I bought says to used the dimmer knob while onstar is on. But that doesn't work.

I don't have the same module that you do but mine has some shunt jumpers on it, you take them off / add them on in order to adjust. Maybe there is something on the adapter?

Figured this one out too..........

Well Scosche R&D sucks. I just figured out for them that the ONSTAR volume adjustment will only work if the HEADLIGHTS are ON, just like in their chime volume adjustment procedure. So if you were in a darkish garage or outside at night installing, you would probably be fine, but for the rest of us that work during the day or under good lighting, you must turn on headlights for ONSTAR adjustment too. Maybe at one point this used to work on these cars, but not on my 2010 silverado!
