Ltz Painted Front Bumper And Stone Chips

I have an '07 LTZ with a painted bumper cover. This cover has many stone chips. If I get it repainted how can I prevent this from happening again?? Will the clear plastic stick on stuff work? Maybe rocker panel stone gaurd? Bed liner spray?

If it's any indication the clear plastic has saved the headlight lenses on my fathers truck. I cant say the same for the paint above and below it's a F_ _D

the metal is rusting. Most GM's don't have this issue. The Line X spray can be tinted to match your color. Is your truck the new style or previous style.
