2010 Silverado Ltz, Wanting To Add Nav System

Recommended Posts

I have a 2010 Silverado LTZ ext cab with the Bose system and am looking at installing a Nav system but I want to retain all my current options: steering wheel controls, USB (ipod control) in the center console and Bluetooth.

I found these on ebay:

Link 1

and

Link 2

The first one is $499 but is this an older version? The second one sounds more like what I am looking for with more features. I would also like to do the rear cam install at the same time. I currently have the Bose system with Bluetooth and the usb plug in.

My questions are:

Will my Bluetooth, USB (for ipod) and steering wheel buttons all work properly with either of these units?

Has anyone purchased and installed either of these units? Good?? Bad??? Are there better options????

Thanks!!!

The first link is interesting but I have not heard of it. [Edit] The second link is the Rosen units that are supposed to be plug and play as long as you do not have backup cam or rear seat entertainment controls. In my case, i have a '09 Tahoe and i do not want to give up the backup cam even though I do not like the OEM nav unit and would love to replace it.

Not much help but that is my $.02

The second link is to an expired sale so it is not clear what it is. The first link is interesting but I have not heard of it. There are the Rosen units that are supposed to be plug and play as long as you do not have backup cam or rear seat entertainment controls but they are about three times the cost of that one. In my case, i have a '09 Tahoe and i do not want to give up the backup cam even though I do not like the OEM nav unit and would love to replace it.

Thanks! The second link is expired, but he has 10 of them and normally has an auction running. Scroll down and the entire listing is still visible with all specs. This one does say you can add on a rear cam.

Yes it does have an input for a backup cam but not the OEM backup cam. The OEM is in the GMLAN harness and the ROSEN does not interface with the part of the GMLAN that carries that. There is a Metra breakout adaptor but I cannot find a place to buy it on the internet. The backup cam they talk about is the add-on one.

I would/will get the one in the second link (Rosen) if I can get everything worked out. Another word of caution is that Crutchfield, who carries Rosen as an authorized dealer, claim the GM0710 does not fit my Tahoe.

If you search for the GM 700 on the first link you can find it on Amazon and the three people who reviewed it gave it low ratings.
