My Seats are Killing Me!

Maybe it's my butt, but I just can't get comfortable in my LT bucket seats.  The top part of the seat (just below the headrest) cuts across low on my shoulders.  I'd like that part of the seat to be higher on my back, up towards the collar bone.  As it is now, it pushes my shoulders too far forward bending my back.  So, I try to compensate for this by putting in extra lumbar support, but that doesn't work.  I've also tried relcining the seat, but that puts me to far from the steering wheel (moving the seat up to compensate for this puts me too close to the pedals!).  Argh.

 

I've been back to the dealership.  They say they often get complaints about Silverado seats.  The raised the entire seat up and put in extra padding. That helped some, but now I think it's too hard (I have a sensitive butt you know!).  

 

Anyway, if I could just get the seat back to raise up a few inches, and have the seat bottom stay where it is, I think that would do it.  That would put the top part of the seat back up off my shoulder blades and allow my back to straighten out.

 

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions or have had similiar problems?  Thanks.

I can adjust my seat bottom down independent of the seat back on my '02 SLT.

 

What year is your LT?

 

Do you have full power seats?

My truck is a 2002 Ext cab LT.  It has leather seats with the full power seat option.  I can move the seat bottom independently of the seat back too.  I just can't seem to get it low enough to have the seat back be comfortable.  I don't know, maybe I'm shaped like a troll!  But I've never had this problem in other vehicles before.  A 30 minute commute leaves my tail bone area and lower back hurting enough to make me wince when getting out of the truck.
