A little promotion for ol' Digs!

Just got back from dinner at the bosses house with all of the management guys. It seems yours truly has been selected to be the back-up for our Fleet Manager! After only 5 months with the company, and ahead of a lot of other guys with more time on the job, I'm getting bumped up.

Basically the Fleet Mgr is the guy who orders all the new trucks, handles dealer trades, does the locates for hard to find vehicles, handles all fleet orders for the big local companies and replenishes sold units based on allocations. Imagine, sitting around all day, ordering new trucks with someone else's money!!

I think between being a hard worker and having a lot of product knowledge (that I admitedly learned a lot of from this forum and its members) helped tremendously. The only downside is, since we are a GMC and Toyota dealership, I now know more about the Toyota Sienna mini-van than any one person should have to! :laugh:

This probably means I'll be chiming in even less around here for awhile, but now when I do, rest assured, I'll know what I'm talking about. So thanks to all of the folks here who constantly share their knowledge!

Congrats!

My friend who was the Service Manager is now the Fleet Manager at Elmhurst Chevy. You should've seen the bid requirements for the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority for those who don't know what the CTA is) that they submitted.

What a P.I.T.A!!! :0
