I freaking can't wait. I hope they do strike again. I wouldn't give a rats crapper if MLB went bankrupt and Minor league ball was the highest you could go. Maybe it will get rebuilt by a new group with somebody who appeciates a great paying job doing nothing but playing a game for 6 months a year.

I used to like watching baseball quite a bit, now I don't know. I'm having trouble giving any sympathy to the players or owners who are complaining about only earning a couple million bucks for six months of work (or is it play, thats all they say they want is to have fun). This as I'm out there working my ass off doing something that may actually have importance in this world, not just entertainment, for less yearly money than many of these players are earning in one at bat.

I'm to the point I'm hoping for a strike now. Sure, lots of stuff like good seasons, surprising teams, and the like will go down in the tubes, but they've shown they don't really care by their willingness to strike.

Ditto! Let them strike. It would serve them right to lose their career and have to work at McDonald's for $15k a year.

(yeah, I know that wouldn't happen, but it would be sweet)

I agree, good riddance!

Although I love our new stadiums here in Detroit (Comerica Park and Ford Field), I wish we had teams to go with them

I think it should go down like this:

The owners sit down and lay an altimatium(sp?) on the table - either you get payed this set amount or we no longer need your services - good bye jack don't let the door hit you on the ass. We have so many minor league players that want me make it to mlb that you all are easily replaced... we make the stars around here you didn't make yourself.. buhhhh bye and don't forget to pick up your last check this week.

I've always found baseball boring, So I shouldn't really car but I hope the strike too.

I've been kinda hacked since they gave bonds 90 million. Anybody making that much had better be working on a cure for cancer.

I guess they just want their cut. It makes you wonder where the owners get the money to pay them.

I hate to see them strike because of what is over, but I still like baseball. It's my favorite stick-and-ball type sport. Still behind racing though.

IMO, the MLB players don't deserve the pay they get as it is, and they want more?

I said this a while back and I'll re-state it here.

I could play with a bat and a ball all day for free, why do I want to watch a bunch of crybabies do it for millions?

Gettin into this one way too late, but I ditto those sentiments already expressed - my G*$, baseball has turned into something I just don't recognize anymore - along w/ most pro sports, and some college.

Made this statement in another post, but it's still true - go rent "The Rookie", w/ Dennis Quaid - it's how baseball should be, IMO. :thumb:
