07 Classic Running Rich?

Hey guys just wondering if it's normal for the 5.3 to run rich?

Truck is in perfect mech condition and gets amazing gas milage but I have all this black soot all over my tailgate and garage door.(I have duals and reverse park in) Mostly conservative highway driving but I really open her up down the back roads cause I like hearing the exhaust

 

Is there something I should look at? I have no CEL light on the dash but every now and then the motor gives a little hicup when stopped at a light.Maybe just becasue the tail pipes come straight out the back?

Yup. You answered your own question.

If you had a "rich" problem, your SES light would be glowing...

Everything runs a tick rich when you first start it up cold (like in the garage in the AM) until the cats, Oxy sensors and coolant get warm. Sorta like your lawn mower that needs the choke on to start the motor. That's where the soot is probably coming from. Like already mentioned, the rear exit pipes just make it easier to see.

 

If it makes you feel any better, my Diesel is probably worse! ;-)
