new engine

I just bought a new Goodwrench longblock for my 94. We will be removing the old junk Thursday night and working the weekend till it's done and running. I purchased the gaskets I will need and a new waterpump as well.

 

Is there anything I will need to look out for when I do the swap?  ???  How about break-in period, is it still only 500 miles?

 

I'll let you guys know how performance is vs. the old one with 130K

Sweet.  I am sure you will enjoy the new found power.  What are the ratings on the new engine?

Thanks Sin. It's just a stock Goodwrench motor for my truck, they aren't any performance add-ons or anything, but I figure being new there should be some noticable improvement over what's in there right now. I'll try and get some pics, my camera kinda sucks!!!

update - first, no pics yet, but I can get some today. It's pretty bare in the engine compartment, though the engine is still in. It should be out today and the shiny new engine will be ready for transplant  

 

We did get stuck on the powersteering pulley, we need a puller to get that and the bracket off before we can go any further.

I do have a nice shiny hood sitting in my computer room

I know it may be a little late for this, but I would take pics of the engine compartment before I removed the old motor.  So I would have a reference of where EVERYTHING connected if I had any doubt.

Mark I did the next best thing and labeled all the connectors. All the bolts are in baggies and labeled as well. Thanks though  :thumb:

Maybe you'll get lucky and save a few bucks.  It sure wouldn't hurt to ask your dealer -- it sounds like there is alot of stuff on sale!
