Hot Ac Air Denali 2007

The passenger side air will suddenly go to hot air and cannot get cold back until Denali is shut off and restarted. nothing seems to change it. If control set on auto or select drive and passenger side it makes no difference. Could this be an actuator, control module, sensor or the software? I have no idea. If a control unit does anyone know how hard to install and the cost? I appreciate any help. Thanks,

Jim I just had this same problem diagnosed by the local dealer as the blend door actuator. My truck is a 2004 1500 Silverado with duel climate control. The part is available on the open market, just Google it; thas how I found mine-$99 on Amazon. It does require the entire dash to be removed to the a/c ducts on the fire wall, driver side is not as bad I hear. If you check this forum you will find the steps to fix it. Some have replaced the a/c fuses near the battery box or disconnected the battery for 30-60 min to re-calibrate the actuator, it worth a try. My dealer wanted $800 to replace the part-I passed since the a/c still blows cold. Good luck on yours and if you do the work your self please post some pictures of the process. You may get lucky and just do a "blend door relearn" !!!!!!!!

 

The procedure is posted around here somewhere................

 

Do it your self method..

 

Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds.

Install the HVAC/ECAS fuse.

Start the vehicle.

Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.

Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

 

Dealer method...

 

Start the vehicle.

With the scan tool, initiate the Motor Re-calibration feature of the Heating and Air Conditioning Special Functions menu.

Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

 

HERES ANOTHER: (same-same)

Try looking for the HVAC fuse under the hood.

pull the fuse for about five minutes, reinstall it then turn the ignition on don't touch the controls for another 5 minutes. The system will run through all the settings.
