07 Avalanche Built 06 Installed Vcim 20783877 No Bluetooth

just installed my ebay obtained 20783877 vcim in my 07 avalanche with nav...can not get my bluetooth working, hold down voice button try saying bluetooth and not recognized. tried the mirror phone button "on* ready" tried "bluetooth "....not recognized....i looked at my old onstar module and it was labeled 06 version, is there something else thats not compatable? this must have been built in 06 but is a new body style 07 any help would be welcomed. I have read a load of the threads but don't see any of this problem.

I think the radio system changed in 07 from 06 to a newer platform. I wonder if yours didn't make the cut to the newer systems. let me know if you find that it is incompatable with your avalanche and want to get rid of it.

If it's an '07, the stereo system is the same from then until now. 2006 and earlier GMT-800 last generation trucks are completely different, but an '07 should work and others have been using the systems.

 

Do you have the Bluetooth antenna on the box, etc.? Odd it just doesn't seem to function, unless it's locked in some way.

For whatever reason, in my 2008 Acadia I had to say "Onstar" first after pushing the voice button, then say "Bluetooth". Give that a try.

I have been reading various posts on this site regarding the install of the 20783877 or 25984444. I too have a 2007 Avalanche that I am considering upgrading, mine doesn't have the NAV. I am interested in how your install went?
