Just bought a 2005 gmc sierra 1/2 ton 4x4. The pitman and idler arms were wiped out. I replaced them with New MOOG parts. When i was putting it back together noticed the center link is higher on the idler arm side. My first though was i got bad parts So i reinstalled the factory origonals.found they were the same. i rechecked the pitman arm mount it turns properly with no bend and the frame mounting does not appear to be bent. My step dad has the same truck with the same steering geometry. Is this normal or is there something im missing???? :)

I reinstalled the old part to verify it wasnt the new part .A new dealer part would have the same fit as the original part.I agree some dealer parts are the only way to go but i dont think that is my current problem. I woulndn't put it past gm to use two different steering gears one that sits 3/8 of an inch higher or lower than the other and consider it o.k. I'm looking for someone who does alignments suspention work to verify if this i normal or not.
