Crazy Problems...

Here's a weird delima:

My sister-in-laws '98 Blazer has gone nuts. At first the problem was just the blinker/flasher mechanism's were on the fritz. She would turn the signal on and it would click very rapidly, either direction. Then it started clicking irratically when she would press the brakes. Now when she gets in and tries to start the thing the clicker goes crazy, and the truck won't even start! I have heard the wiring harness could have a short and it may even be a common problem. I am trying to help the girl out since she is 3.5 hours away. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. Any additional info on these harnesses. I am thinkinh about going up there next weekend and getting this thing going for her. Any diagnostic advice for me? Thanks

What you describe sounds like the column or combo switch may have come apart internally or just fried. It's not a terribly uncommon problem. It could also be in the wiring in the column I suppose. You'll probable just have to go there and tear into it to see. Sorry I;m not much more help than that.

I talked to her a little while ago and now the rear hatch is popping itself open and the cd player is spitting the cd in and out. When she puts the key into the ignition the flasher and blinkers mech's are going crazy.
