Warranty Work & Now Check Engine Light On. Coincidence?

I have an 08 GMC Sierra. Took the truck in yesterday for a recall on the washer fluid heater and leaking windshield. Of course while there, the dealer calls and offers to change oil and rotate tires. I do my own maintence and declined having the dealer do the work. Now when I pick up the truck the check engine light is on. Of course when you call the dealer, they just want you to bring it back in.

 

Anyone else have anything like this happen?

Most likely something stupid. You could try to disconnect the neg side of the battery for a few minutes and see if the SES light comes back on. If it does, I think your going back to the dealership. I doubt they'd do anything on purpose just to bring you back. Your not the first to decline extra work.
