I am just looking for some advice and info. I am looking into a remote start for my truck. I am looking for the best bang for my buck. I want the basics, remote start and keyless entry. I dont want to have to use two different remotes. Also could get some advice on if I should install it myself or get it professionally. thanks in advance

I just got one installed on my truck last weekend. I have the Polar Start one way system. Seems like a decent starter and does what i need it to do. I do not know what bypass was put in, but all I know is if it goes below 0C/32F the heated seats turn on. Most if not all the systems come with keyless now afaik. Find a shop that you know has a good reputation and get them to install it.

I had mine installed locally, it's a phyton 571xp system, cost $450 installed. I recommend a remote start system that is 2-way, you then get verification that your vehcile recieved the command to start/stop/lock/unlock....

 

It was a bundle of wires on my system, much prefer a pro to install it, this particular system's warranty states a pro must install it for the warranty to be valid.

I installed a Marksman M11 2way from Auto Alarm Pro. It came with specific instructions for my truck. Install was pretty straight forward. Don't know if your comfortable working on electrical stuff but if you are, give them a shout. I'm pleased with both the product and their service.
