im interested in lifting my 2009 chevy i want to know what a good lift would be and what kind of gas mileage to expect with the lift

Depends on what size tires you're wanting to run.

BDS, Fabtech, Rancho are 3 popular suspension lifts here.

I used to run a 33" tire with a 2" level but I can't remeber what the mpg was with that setup. With my BDS 6 and Zone 1.5 35" tire and 4.88 gears I'm getting around 13.

What size tires/wheels are you looking to run?

There's plenty of knowledgeable guys here that can help you out.

For 35's you're best bet is a 6" suspension.

BDS is actually 6" where as Fabtechs 6 is like 7.5-8.

BDS offers a lifetime warranty but Fabtech gives a little more lift.

Depending on wheel backspace you will have to trim some plastic with the BDS though.

Also you may need to regear with the 35's. The 4 speed with 3.73 gears doesn't pull that great and places

Stress on the tranny. But if you have the 6 speed I believe 3.73 are gtg.

i have wheels on my truck i belive they are a -12 offset and i want to be able to use them and my truck does have the 6 speed

or a +12 whatever close to stock offset it

+12 would be 5.7 back space where as -12 would be 4.5.

If it's closer to stock it is probably +12.

The 5.7 bs wouldn't require as much trimming (if any) with the 6" BDS.

The 4.5 means more trimming and possibly some metal.

What size gears are in the truck? And which engine?

I'm not positive but I believe I read on here that the 3.73 with the 6 speed is ok for 35" tires. Hopefully some of the more knowledgeable guys will chime in on that part.

My wheels have a 4.75 back space so I had to cut a bit of plastic and knock back some metal on the rear of the front fender.

I think Blackout 007 runs 5.7 back space but he has 20" wheels. Not sure how much he had to trim if any.

The BDS website says 20x9 wheel with 5.7 back space. So if your wheel is 9" wide you should be good to go with the BDS.

I don't know anything about Fabtech except their 6" lift actually gives you closer to 8" of lift.

But BDS and Fabtech are 2 of the favorites on this site.

Good Luck with what ever you decide to do though.

I'm sure some of the other guys will chime in sooner or later.

what kind of tireswould you reccomend somthing thats somewhat aggressive but had a nice ride and wears good

I only have experience with BFG All Terrains and Mickey Thompson ATZ.

The BGF's rode fine and wore great but were not very aggressive to say the least.

The Mickey Thompson's ride great and are pretty aggressive for an All Terrain. Can't say about the wear cause I've got less than 5K on mine. I really like the ATZ's though and unless I decide to go with a Mud Terrain later I will more than likely stick with the ATZ's.

MT makes a good looking mud tire also. Don't know anything about it though.
