2003 Silverado 2500hd Passenger Mirror

I backed into a building post and broke the passenger mirror assembly! I took it apart and was able to use JB Weld to mend the plastic on the motor mount. Put it back together minus a few left over parts. It seems to work properly, up-down-left-right, and the extender works as well. Only problem is that there are 2 metal spring steel clips and a plastic "wishbone" looking device - I can not figure out where they belong. Maybe for stablizing the mirror against road vibration? I plan on using exterior double sided mounting tape to put the mirror back on (the mirror has some hailline cracks held together by the heating grid tape, but is useable). Signal still works as well. Fun project, and beats the $389.00 replacement part!

Before I replace the mirror:

A) Should I go to a dealership to look at the exploded diagram?

-or-

B) Is one available on line?

-or-

C) Just put the mirror on and see how it goes?

Thanks in advance!
