2011 Silvy/denali Hd Wheels On A 1/2 Ton

Hello all,

I currently drive a 2011 Sierra Denali, and recently came across a picture of a 2011 Sierra Denali HD. I really like the look of the truck and thought that I might be able to replicate the "look" of the truck.

What I was thinking was that I would do a level and 1.5" body lift to the truck to give the HD look, without the longbed obvoiusly. Along with the lift and level, I wanted to get a set of the 2011 denali HD or Silverado HD 5 star wheels. I understand that they are 8 lug wheels and I have a 6 lug truck, but I also see that some adapters are available.

What would the downsides be to the adapters and wheels on my 1/2 ton truck? Do you think this would look similar to the Denali HD? or would the new offset just make my truck look silly.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Any adapter is going to add some space and therefore kick the wheels out some. I'm not a fan of wheels that stick out. The only downside would be the wheels sticking out some. I believe the 5 star HD are 20" wheels and that will cause no problems. I guess the cost of adapters would be a downside too. My cousin just spent $600 for some wheel adapters for his Excursion.

Thanks for the reply. in researching the adapters it looks like they are 2" thick as well as costing about 150-200 depending on where I get them from.

My concern is just as above: the offset difference.

Anyone have any thoughts on the offset difference between the HD vs the NON-hd trucks?

It boils down to whether you want the wheels stick out or not.. I personally dont think it would look bad at all. The stock offset has the wheels/tire tucked in a little bit anyway..
