Drop in K & N air filter??

Anybody notice a difference in performance with the only mod being the K&N drop in air filter?  I'm looking to do an easy, not so expensive upgrade.  On a motorcycle it's the most bang for the buck if you swap out the exhaust and the air cleaner, add a chip that remixes the air fuel.  Is it the same with a truck?  I'll pick mine up in two weeks.

Thanks,

I have a drop-in filter on my 6.0L truck.  In a vehicle as big as these you need to see 10 HP gains before you can feel it in the "seat of the pants".  I'm sure it helps though especially when under heavy throttle or towing.

I had the FIPK in my 2000 Silverado 5.3L and it definatly made a difference.

i installed the drop in when i first bought my truck. i really cant tell you if there was a performance gain. i put one in my vette, gsxr and camaro and noticed a difference, so kn has impressed me. what i like most is the cheap cost of one compared to replacing the filter each year.

I have a K&N Drop in, and didnt really notice any power increase because I put it in as soon as I got it! Plus it beats paying over $10 for a paper filter!I think with a K&N Drop in the hp gain on our trucks is somewhere from 4-6 hp, so not all that noticeable!

On a Bike you notice a mad power increase... And especially on a four wheeler... But as far as ever noticing in any of my vehicles; No... But I know it helps... Just nothing I could ever feel...

I didn't feel any difference with the drop in, I've got a FIPK but have not installed it yet. Hopefully it will make a more noticable gain.

I put a drop in K&N a week after I got mine didn't really notice any performance increase but you could hear the air being sucked in when you got into it.

I spent the $50 on my K&N the day after I bought the truck just because I don't wanna change the dang thing every other oil change. I've put K&N's in every other one of my vehicles they were available for, and never once noticed a performance difference. It may add a few horses here and there, but personally? The only benefit I noticed is the "drop in - forget about it" aspect and the cool sticker I put on the airbox.  :chevy:
