Bilstein Leveling Shocks

After researching posts and bilstein webpage, I think I am gonna go with the bilstein 5100 leveling shocks with terra grappler 285/70/r17. I have an 08 silverado 4x4 z71 bone stock. It looks like 17" tires are generally cheaper, and after selling my 18" wheels and buying 17s, in the long run I may save money with 17" tires vs. 18." Anyway my question is whats involved in adjusting the shocks after they are installed. I can't find info on this. My thot is this-if leveling the front more than 1 1/2 inches puts strain on the balljoints, and I read on a post that just under an inch is minimum requirement for these tires, can I adjust them prior to offroading and lower them for street driving. It is a daily driver that does not see much offroad, but when it does, an extra 1 inch and more for ground clearance and suspension flex would be nice.

Any thots would be appreciated. Oh yeah, why don't I see any pics with a lumber rack. I know they dont look that cool, but isn't that what trucks r for. :D

Just set them to what you like and leave them. You will need to take them back off to adjust as the collar is at the bottom for the spring perch. I am adjusting my again tomorrow after putting it off for awhile.

what r yours set at and what r u moving to. Why the change. Also what tire r u running. I like the stance of your truck. Sorry to be nosey, just like to have all the info. I know everyone has their opinion on what works best and how much money they can spend.

This sight has been extremely helpful. Look forward to posting pics when the money comes in.

I am running a 295/70/17 but also have a 3" Body lift.

I origanally set them to the highest with 1.77. I am dropping back down to the second notch for .5 lift but adding RC 2" level kit to offset some wieght (new bumper) I am placing on here soon.
