This bolt was worn badly," bracket main bolt hole, both of them . was all wallowed out" where the front pivot bolt slides thru bracket [both sides] and spring eye., so now, i have removed and welded up the holes. in both brackets on both sides.Re-drilled the bracket ,holes.

I now need to find someone who has a specifications book, to get the reccomended torque spec number on these bolts and nuts. I have them installed on both sides. [thats a bummer doing this job,in your garage] They maybe to tight. as my ride is alittle too stiff in the back. I wish to loosen them up just enuff to compensate, The truck has only 32,000 miles on it,and the bolts were rattling awful.when i bought it, used.

Those brackets should not have worn out that quik, I lowered a 94 chevy truck like this, that i purchased new.. and i saw it a few days ago,it has over 200,000 miles on it 4 owners, and never been worked on underneath. thank you for taking the time to read and any help will be greatlty appreciated.

Classic (GMT800) body style is 70 lb/ft.

New (GMT900) body style is 148 lb/ft.

Torque all spring and shackle bolts with the weight of the vehicle on the spring and after jouncing the suspension to

settle the springs. If they are torqued with the weight of the axle hanging on the spring, you will preload the spring eye bushing and that will cause the ride quality to stiffen up considerably.
