Yukon Power Litegate

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon with the power liftgate. The lift gate only opens manually now. When you push the button to open the liftgate I here the lock unlock and the lift motor runs and then it makes a thud sound and stops running but the gate never moves. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be??

I'm having the same issue with my Yukon. I checked the fuse and it's not blown. The problem started when I was opening the rear door and hit the auto-start. Let me know if you find anything out. I really don't want to replace the motor.

I have not removed anything yet I was hoping for some good tech info. But I think I will remove the panels and motor and see if I can tell what is going on. I will post what I find out.

I hope you haven't removed the panel yet. The switch over the rearview mirror must have been accidentally moved into the off position. I just went and tested my 2009 Suburban and if that switch is in the off position, you can go to the liftgate, press the button to open the back lift door and you'll hear it unlock and you'll hear it attempt to open and then reshut and relock. Let us know if that is what your issue was. You would expect that if the switch is turned off that it wouldn't do anything at all.
