Posi Differential

Just a couple of quick questions here. A friend of mine has a 96 Tahoe with the chevy 10 bolt and 8.5 ring gear, the truck might possibly be taking a trip to the junkyard here soon. He put a Eaton Posi in the rear end about 10 thou or so miles ago, he offered to sell me the rear end to use in my truck but Im not sure if it would work in my truck. I have a 2011 GMC Seirra 4x4 and an open rear. Im just not sure if the ring gear sizes or even the splines on the axles would be the same. The other concern that I have is that my truck is equipped with stabilitrk, and i dont know how a posi would react with that system. Any help is appreciated!

You shouldn't have any issues with the stabilitrac, but I'm not positive. As far as the rear, you'll have to take a peak under your truck, I can't remember off the top of my head what the GMT-900 rear ends are.
