Pretty sure I have a "tow package"...but then again, not really sure. Is there an easy way to tell what gears I have?

Check the glove box for the RPO codes.

 

GU6 would be 3.42's

GT4 would be 3.73's

A gear swap for a 4x4 usually costs around $1500 depending on the area. That includes the master rebuild kit, gears and labor. For a 2wd about $500.
