New Nav With Xm Problems

I hope someone on here can help me out! I just swapped out the GM factory 6 disc radio that had XM and Bose for a factory GM Nav radio with Bose and XM. I did this on a 08 Silverado. I didn't have any problems with the install, I ran all the proper wires to the VSS and to the onstar module. Once I installed everything, I took the truck to a friend at the dealer, he hooked up his Tech 2 and got the theif lock off and programmed the radio. Everthing worked perfect!! At least I thought.

Here is where the problem came in. After about a week I decided I would have the XM turned on, so I make a call to XM, give em my XM radio ID from the radio, they tell me give the radio 5 min. and I will have their service. XM never came on so I called em back and they tell me their not sure why my radio isn't working, they send me to their tech and he says I need to take the truck to the dealer and have them program the XM categories. I went back to my friend at the dealer and he said that was not something the dealer does and that he had never heard of that.

At this point I don't know what to do. I have called XM a dozen times but get the same answer from them. Do any of you guys have a clue as to what I need to do to get XM to work? Thanks in advance for any help. Andy
