Excssive Wind Noise On Ext Cab

This is the first 4-door extended cab Ive ever owned. Ive had crew cabs and my s10 was a 3 door. Im not sure if its a common problem or just with mine, but Im getting a lot of wind noise coming from both back doors at speeds of 65+. I thought at first it was from not closing the rear doors good, but even after a good slam, I still get the noise. I never had this much noise from my crew cab, and my S10 was so full of other noises from creaking interior, agressive tires, etc. that I never noticed wind noise. Ive checked all the weather stripping and they all are in good shape and seem to seal well. I have no water leaks or anything, just wind.

 

Is this common on the Ext cabs?

It was a pretty common issue on the GMT 800s. Some replace the latches and it fixes it. I think there was a TSB on bending the metal the latches mount to to tighten it up. My left rear got pretty bad, but it leaks at the forward edge not the latch edge so I just put some clear tape on the outside. You can hardly see it and I never opened the quarter windows anyway. A search should give you a lot of info.
