2011 Tahoe - Installing Aftermarket Exhaust Problem

Recommended Posts

Hey there, I want to put on an aftermarket exhaust and I went to a known muffler shop that installs flowmasters and he stated that they can swap the mulffler out for a 40 series flowmaster, no problem, but because of the resonator being towards the end of the exhaust system that he can't put a chrome tip. I have seen a lot of Tahoe's with exhaust (both single out and duals), so why am I having a problem? Is the resonator required or will it cause the noise to be overly loud. When I asked him if he can take the resonator out, he looked at me like I was crazy and that the sound would be insane, which isn't what I want. I want some improvement to the sound, but not to the point of blowing eardrums.

I am thinking of going to a magnaflow shop tomorrow, but curious on how other Tahoe's have been outfitted with a new exhaust or if I am spinning my wheels. Maybe since its a 2011 its a different set up, not sure.

All ideas and opinions welcomed.
