88 Gmc 1500 Transmission

I have a 88 GMC Sierra 4x4 with automatic transmission. Only 32000 miles! Stuck in park. Seems to shift in Reverse and Drive but doesn't move. Any help would be appreciated!

check the trans fluid,if its go then it will probably need a rebuild.32,000 miles.wow.im at 270,000 miles with original trans.

ok so like was stated check the trans fluid (at operating temp) if its good when was the last time you checked the filter? is it original or a reman? how long did it sit? very well could also be a trans fluid pump issue

Stuck in park has nothing to do with fluid. Disconnect the linkage from the trans. If you can move the shifter inside the truck, the problem is in the trans.. If the truck is parked on a steep incline, it may be causing it to lockup also.
