Diff Whine On Decelaration

I have a 2007 NBS Silverado (2wd ext. cab 4.8 auto, 3.23 gear) that I bought used last summer. It was a fleet vehicle and had about 92,000 miles on it. It now has about 95,000 miles and has about 5 months/5,000 miles of drivetrain warranty remaining. There is noticeable whine coming from the diff on decelaration (pretty much any speed). My question: is it worth my time to take it to a dealer for examination? It is possible they would fix this, or would the diff have to completely fail before they would do anything? Thanks.

Generally a whine on decel means loose backlash, which can sometimes be caused by a worn bearing.

I would bring it in, even if they decline to fix it now and then at 105k miles it truly fails you have pretty good leverage to get them to fix it.
