Hi .. puting this question(s) out to everyone .. sticker on my trailer hitch says :

V-5 Talon... 7500lb straight tow and 12000lb weight distributing

Does that mean that with a weight distibuting hitch that I can tow up to 12,000 pounds ??

Does anyone know where you plug in the brake controler I have looked under the dash and in the fuse box and there doesnt appear to be anything there.

Lately my gas milage has been terrible, any ideas as to why that may be ..

Thanks to anyone that can awnser this ...

Welcome!

The hitch is rated to handle up to 12,000lbs with a weight distributing hitch, but your truck certainly is NOT! (for example, putting a Class V hitch on a Honda Pilot doesn't make it a tow rig). ;)

I would guess your tow rating to be in the 7000lbs area.

The brake controller plug would be located under the dash on the driver's side, under a cover that is located in the upper left corner. Do a search on this site as there a numerous threads about how to connect a brake controller.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
