first off, hi all i am new here to these forums.

now, i have a 1993 GMC Sierra C/K2500 SLE 4x4, 5.7L i just finished getting it back up and running the last week here (replaced rear ujoint, new batt. , plugs, starter motor, and a few other minor things.)

One thing i have noticed since i got the truck about 4 years ago is when driving there is a quite noticable whine comming from the, i think front end of the truck. I think it is comming from the tcase (have not looked yet), and wanted to get an opionion from people who would know better.

Cheers and thanks in advance

Welcome. Depends on the whine. May be a belt or belt tensioner (pulley). If it's coming from the engine compartment.

actually it being the tensioner would make sense. it does not sound like it is coming from the tcase (when i took a good listen yesterday).

thanks for the tip.

Power steering pump whine??? Fairly common problem. Had a 2004 Silverado that drove me nuts before I figured it out. Replaced under warranty and it was quiet until the day I traded her.
