Loose Tailgate

hey all im new here and like what i see so far. ive got an 03 regency silverado half ton. it came with the line x bed liner and the tailgate has never been right. it latches good and releases but with its closed it has close to and inch of play. never was tight. someone once told me it was because the liner was sprayed on too thick in the rear. not too sure what to do but im soo fed up with it moving and making noise. thanks for any help.

You might be able to adjust the strikers. Also check the lower edge where it meets the bed. Excessive thickness of bed liner will cause problems.

how do i adjust the strikers. this is on the bed itself right?

Yep if memory serves me right the pins on the bed have adjustment. Just loosen them and move where you need.
