Moving Onstar Microphone Project

Running Nitto Mud Grappler 33's are giving me some trouble on using my OnStar phone.

 

 

Taking the mic out and moving it to right over the drivers seat and maybe using a better mic.

 

Modify the cable so I can make it as long as I need it, and can try it out in different locations.

 

Also, want info on using a better mic (like the ones the truck drivers user a Boom Mic)

 

Has anyone done mods to their Onstar Mic?

 

No idea where to start but it's got to be possible!
